Description:
it is a medicine used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). It is a combination of two medicines that effectively controls blood pressure when a single medication is not effective. It helps to lower high blood pressure and thus reduces the chances of future heart attack and stroke. It should be taken empty stomach regularly at a fixed time every day. This medicine should not be stopped abruptly as it may result in sudden increase of blood pressure. This medicine should be used along with a proper diet, salt restriction, and regular exercise for best results. Some patients may develop swelling of ankle as a side effect of this medicine. It may also produce dizziness initially, but this improves with time. "

Alcohol CAUTION It is unsafe to consume alcohol with IT. Atenolol and alcohol may have additive effects in lowering your blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate. warnings Pregnancy WEIGH RISKS VS BENEFITS IT is unsafe to use during pregnancy. There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor. warnings Lactation CAUTION IT is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby. warnings Driving Do not drive unless you are feeling well. IT may cause side effects such as dizziness, headaches, nausea or tiredness, all of which could affect your ability to concentrate and drive. warnings Kidney CAUTION IT should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of IT may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Regular monitoring of blood pressure is recommended and can help in better dose adjustment. warnings Liver CAUTION IT should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of IT may be needed. Please consult your doctor. IT is started at a lower dose in patients with liver disease and further increased slowly with careful monitoring.
