Description:

Amikacin is an antibiotic used to prevent or treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. This may include infections of the urinary tract, bones and joints, lungs (eg. pneumonia), brain, blood, and some others. It is also used in hospitalized patients to prevent infections.

Human studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby. warnings Driving Amikacin may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive. warnings Kidney CAUTION Amikacin should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Amikacin may be needed.
